| When I completed the “Drive of Your Life” game, I discovered that my personal style profile was practical, questioning, and structured. The three careers that match my style are aerospace engineer, computer engineer, and mechanical engineer. From this information I have decided to explore becoming a mechanical engineer. I selected this job because I enjoy technology and discovering and making things. One of my daily activities as a mechanical engineer would be to design tools. I also have to make engines. In addition, I have to make or redesign machines. To work as a mechanical engineer, I need to get a bachelor's degree. I must be good at science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in order to become a well trained mechanical engineer. In the United States, the average salary for a mechanical engineer is $78,200 per year. In the state of Virginia, the average annual salary is $90,860. In the United States by the year 2016 employment for a mechanical engineer is expected to increase by 4.2%. In the state of Virginia by the year 2016 it is expected to increase by 10.8%. I am looking forward to becoming a mechanical engineer in the future. |
